I received a email about a job position, it told me I qualified for it. It asked that I fill out a job application, name address date of birth and job history. I was told to call in to speak to my manager. I call it goes to voicemail, then someone calls me back saying they will email me the details for the position where it says they will deposit money into my account to purchase items.

I applied for a virtual jobs via career builder. I got a text immediately from someone named Leonel and he confirmed that he received my application and would like to interview me. I told him I was interested in an interview. He then informed me that someone named Jerry would be conducting the interview via Skype. I did the Skype interview which was really a telegram or interview via text message in Skype. He asked general employment questions along with personal references. I was later informed that I received the job. They sent all of the typical intake paperwork like w4, personal info, company contract that needed to be signed and emailed back. Before they even sent the intake paperwork, they wanted me to mobile deposit checks emailed to me to purchase company technology (i.e. apple laptop, ect..). When I attempted to deposit the check, it bounced. I informed Jerry of this and he overnighted the check and I ended having to deposit the check in-person at my bank. After, I attempted to deposit the check, and my bank informed me the check was fake. Later on during that day I told Jerry the bank informed me that the check was fake and that resign from this position immediately and did not contact him afterwards. Three days later I received a check in the mail from them and text several hours later to confirm that I received the check. I told the person I resigned from the position and who I needed to send the check back to. The person denied the check being fake and told me I had 24 hours to deposit the check or I would be charged by the company for being procession of company property. The person also alluded to having all of my personal info and a pic of me. I did provide my personal info.

The offer letter seems legit and i even signed it. But after they began trying to get bank name and such, I stopped answering and saw others reported it as a scam.

I received an email with a job offer. From there I chatted with their supposed interview manager, Diego Ibanez Pena. I researched the company and the emails of those listed - they all came back as valid and Diego even had a LinkedIn Profile. There was no information from a simple Google search to see if this was a scam or not. After chatting through Microsoft Teams, they requested my address and name... I received a check in the mail. Upon opening the check, it looked suspicious so I looked up the addresses and names listed to check validity, which is where I found evidence of a previous scam attempt.

They walk you through a potential commission opportunities. They advertise a work from home job as a office assisstant everywhere. In local papers,in social media, Facebook groups, etc.. . They use Facebook,WhatsApp, Telegram. I became extremely self aware it was a scam, played curious and played with him, Ryan was his name apparently,

although i have seen this same scam with other names. I didn't get to the part of telling me to give money to make money, but reading anothers downfall its the exact same routine. Beware

I applied for a job on Indeed for the position of Remote Assistant for a company called AR Services. The position was for someone who can convert money into cryptocurrency for clients. I was then contacted via email requesting an interview. I received a call from 754-799-2757 and spoke to a Trico who conducted the interview and asked basic interview questions. I was then told he would forward my information to a manager. I received an email from [email protected] asking me to contact the HR manager and to set up a messaging application called Telegram for all communications. I then received another email saying my application was accepted and welcoming me to the team. I then had to fill out a W9 and sign a contract agreement. I started training with a man names Lars Bergman via Telegram who asked that I set up a bank account in my name so our clients can transfer money directly to me and I would then convert the money into cryptocurrency. This sounds like a form of money laundering or they are wanting to deposit fraudulent money into my account and then have me convert it to cryptocurrency and the fallback would land on me.

I received an email from a man named Jason Kurrass that stated he received my application for a position via LinkedIn and he wanted to know if I was available for an online interview. It was remote position so this was not weird or out of the ordinary for me. The interview was conducted via RingCentral. I would have to signup for ring central and then send him a direct message in the RingCentral chat to let him know I signed up. I conducted the interview thinking it would be a video call but it was a voice call instead with very easy interview questions. This was peculiar to me, but I was in need of a job and ignored the signs. After the interview Jason let me know that I would hear back the next day and to check my spam folder as well as primary. Again, very weird. The day after the interview was sent an offer letter being offered the position at a wage of $35 per hour and $25 per hour during training and the offer was indeed in my spam folder. I was requested to sign and date this letter and then send it back to him which I did. Again, many red flag, but after a long job search I was excited for the opportunity, especially since bills were piling up. After I signed the offer letter, I received an email from Jason stating that he needs me to type my home office location and that I would need to complete an assesment. I stupidly gave him my full name and address, which I was confused as to why he didn't already have that. I also completed an assessment where I would have to a 200-400 word short essay explaining what administrative mistake have I made in the past and what have I learned from it. This essay needed to be completed by the end of the day and sent back to Jason in PDF form. Jason also mentioned that I would be given a $100 bonus for the time I took to complete the assessment. I completed the assessment within less than 30 minutes and sent it back. The next day the assessment was approved and so was my "home office setup." He also stated that at 1pm that afternoon I will be receiving an electronic startup check that will cover the cost of my home office and that he (Jason) will be facilitating the entire process. At 12:45PM that afternoon, I received a check for $4,299 via email and instructions on how to print the attach check on paper, cut out the edges of the front and back of the check, sign the check and then write "for deposit only.' I was then told to repost the funds in my mobile bank app via mobile check deposit and that the fund will be available for immediate use the next business day. The hiring manager kept urging me to deposit the check right away. Now I know I have been silly throughout this entire process, but emailing a check for that amount of money did not seem right with me. I showed my wife and she agreed it was odd. After further research on reddit and TikTok we discovered bioscience job scams that described my entire hiring process word for word. I was devastated because I am in such deep need of a job and was really excited for an opportunity. I stopped reponding to Jason and now I am making this post to warn others.

Scammer posted position on Linked In, followed up in a few days with a suspicious email (horrible formatting), asking people to send them your phone number. They take your name, don't give them anything else, report, block, move on.

They said I was employed by them asked for front and back picture of my id and a picture with me holding my id. Called and said I would be receiving boxes or packages all I have to do is open them make sure nothing was wrong w them and repack them and send them to post office. That I would be paid 750 a week and every package I got on time I would receive 40 dollar bonuses and 100 for sign on but I wouldn’t get paid for the first 30 days . They didn’t have me fill out any tax papers I had three supposedly supervisors call me they said I would receive packages and I get them open them make sure they are not damaged then take a picture for the customer go to my online portal check that I received it and then print the shipping label and take it to the post office. They said I would be picking them up to. I actually received a package on 10-25-23 and I was reading about scammers and I don’t know what to do w it. I don’t wanna get in any trouble cause it doesn’t make since why ship it to someone else that’s stupid why not ship it directly. What am I a mule no I won’t be so I looked up name of company on better business bureau and it doesn’t exist. I just don’t know what to do w the package .

I'm not 100% sure if its a scam because i didn't find them on your scammers' list. The HR lady Jackie Rodney called me from phone number (779) 335-0323 at email [email protected] on Friday Oct.20 offering me a job as a parcel expert. She explained I would be picking up packagess at different stores in my vicinity and forwarding them to designated address and gave me very vague information, for example she didn't know my start date, there was no training just instructions on their dasboard and I would get paid $750 weekly but only 30 days after I got hired as it was a probationary period plus $100 for vip packages and she said if packages were not delivered on time I would'nt get paid. She asked if I had a printer, computer and internet, and I said yes I do. Then she said to email her my CDL and a selfie and I did. Thats' the only information she asked for. Then the following Monday she emailed me a contract and I signed it.and was told to wait for further instructions. The following Tuesday, Jasper the Shipping manager called me from phone number (779) 335-0352 at email [email protected] to explain my duties and sent 4 videos that I didn't open up. Then the next day Wednesdy Kevin Hall the immediate supervisor of outgoing packages called from phone number (779) 335-0357 at email [email protected] with a huge list of instructions on logging in and orientation and taking pictures of package and inspecting them, and shipping them out. He also said they would provide all supplies and after 30 days provide me with ink and a printer. On that same day Ken Sanders called from phone Number (779) 335-0356 from email [email protected] with instructions for incoming packages. At this point I got frustrated and asked him how many more people would be calling for this small job and he just laughed. That's when decided to contact you for information on this company https://www.ctsilogisticsusa.com/. I can only get to this website from the link she sent me and not from my browser. This seemed suspicious to me. Please advise if this is a scam. Thank you for your time

Data entry position with DevOps business. Business appears to be legit, or at least has spent a lot of time and effort appearing so. However, all the hiring process was a major red flag. No phone conversations, just zoom chat. The big red flag was being told they would pay for training equipment (computer, software, and phone). But rather than sending me the equipment or having me submit a receipt for reimbursement, I instead was emailed a check to print and mobile deposit. I called the issuing bank and they said the routing number and account number were fake. Sadly I gave over my information on a W4 so now I get to deal with potential identity theft. Leave the SSN blank on the W4 and see if they notice.

I was contacted about a digital graphics job offer via linked in and through email. They wanted to do a job interview through text on skype. That should have been a big hint something was wrong but I went through with it. I had the interview and was told I received the position. They asked me to fill out a contract and a W-4 form. Then the lady insisted on me depositing a mobile check, which was worrisome so I backed out. I took pictures of the entire conversation. I have the company website, and the email account I was messaged from. I am concerned about my Social security number being stolen.

I have been remote job searching. I received this email and had no recollection of applying for such a position. After some research, this sounds exactly like the “reshipper” scam positions that are being used by people using stolen cards.
