Saw an add on Pinterest. Went to the site and purchased some items. The store was closing, so I thought it was a legitimate site. I only spend 27 dollars, thank God. The package was marked as delivered, but I never actually got the package.

This is a fake website advertising as a legit company: Joann Fabrics. They are using the bankruptcy status of this company to promote a “closing” sale on popular websites such as Pinterest. Everything on the website looks legitimate, the store logo, the products, and the checkout section all we duped to look as if they were the real Joann Fabrics company. While I fell for it and only lost $19.99 with my purchase others who are not aware of this scam can lose any amount of money by making purchases through this fake website.

While on pinterest, I discovered a JOANN fabric store "clearout sale" ad. When i clicked the link, i noticed the link did not look legitimate. As I looked further, I noticed the words "Halloween sale" plastered all over the website- It's January! In addition, the sale markdowns were ridiculous! There were $300 sewing machines marked down to $20; Promoted by a company named " %jobs ".

The website included markdowns that were simply unrealistic and too good to be true. Although the website said it was secure, it did not provide adequate information regarding what or who made said transaction secure. Additionally, the site was nowhere to be found when searching the terms “Joann Los Angeles” in a search engine, and the markdowns listed on the scam site were nowhere to be found on the on the official Joann’s page!
