Type of a scam Online Purchase
My profile was then altered which included a name change of BabonBaybon Thaiba and an address in Alabama. However, the contact number was changed to that of an Oregon area code (see information). Hacker(s) then proceed to order miscallaneous items from a Gift card in my Walmart wallet. Because of suspicious activity, a few items fail to deliver except for one item which reached the location in Oregon - 12687 Northeast Whitaker way, the import business headed by Cuong Minh Duc, and matches up to the phone number left in my profile. I am 100% positive that the person or persons affiliated with JMD Logistics, Import Export, Inc are behind this criminal activity. I have further screenshots and/or evidence to prove my claim. Note: The Walmart + membership was presumably started to save on shipping, leaving more money available towards merchandise for the hacker(s).
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We would like to clarify a few points regarding your statement.
We are a licensed freight forwarding business, and our role is to receive merchandise on behalf of our customers using our company’s business address and phone number. The name BabonBaybon Thaiba is one of our customer account codes in our system. We believe we received your claim referencing this code by email on March 17, 2023, and upon review, we immediately closed that customer account to prevent any further issues and returned all merchandise that was on hold.
Please understand that we do not have access to our customers’ payment methods or personal online accounts. Our responsibility is limited to receiving and forwarding shipments as instructed by our clients. We take fraudulent activity seriously and will fully cooperate with Walmart and the proper authorities should they require any information from us.
For your reference, please see the attached email dated March 17, 2023, in which the individual (Duston) confirmed that he mistakenly left a negative review, acknowledged our role as a freight forwarder, and clarified that the fraudulent activity originated from a customer account. This confirms the matter was resolved in 2023.
We regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused you and assure you that we remain committed to preventing such issues in the future.
