Set up shop in our lives with no plan to finish the job

I should have fired him the first day when he brought a demo crew in, didn't set up anything to mitigate the dust, no rugs or tarps or anything and then used a hammer tacker to staple their trash bags to our trim.

Beside the fact that he told me to send him a list of things to buy then COMPLETELY ignored it and bought cheeper versions of everything in the wrong finish, he said he would do a list of things that he never did. Like a fan/light in the shower, a cutout shelf , he said he would route the plumbing through the joists instead of under it, above all he said he would finish the job in a week.

I was constantly either getting messages about delays that he had "emergency work" to do for other jobs or would have to pester him because no one would show up when he said they would. They set up shop in our house and stayed there for over a month while we were raising an infant. Sometimes after days or weeks of not showing up he would message me and ask for money.

Luckily he had days where he just sent subcontractors who were nice enough to remove the wrong items from the house before they got installed. However everybody that worked on the project did a bad job. The demo, the framers, the tilers, all terrible. And they all complained about how much they hated him.

I ended up getting fed up and paying him just to get out. He had 5k of our money already, which was what he bid us for in the first place, with the job unfinished and with no door installed on the shower he was asking for more money. I told him 5k is what the bid was for and that he never finished the job, he said "that doesn't work for me, everything was more expensive than we talked about." When I asked him to explain his costs he went radio silent. I asked him if we were square and he threatened to put a lien of my house. I paid him $500 to piss off. Then spent another 1k finishing the job myself.

Oh and for the next couple months everybody that parked in front of our house for nails in their tires.

This is seriously not even the half of the frustrations I dealt with because of him and I will be crossing my fingers for the rest of our time in the home that he didn't install a trap for black mold.

A pox on this man.

We hired Brian to put in a new shower and repair sheetrock around the new shower. When he first came out he told me he would do the whole job including the Sheetrock but after the shower install was complete he told me they didn’t know how to do the sheetrock. He then went on to tell me there are other ways and installed a border around the shower. Let’s just say this was an uder fail and he refused to refund my money to have someone else fix it.

DON'T USE Jerde Construction - SCAM artist and Felon

We hired Jerde Construction to remodel a kitchen and bathroom. He pushed my job back several times and when he did come, he was unprepared without tools necessary to do the work. I told him I wanted a water softener put in and he instead put a water filter unit in. I asked him to return it and get the water softener but he refused. I gave him he info for the bathroom vanity I wanted, paid for it, and he bought something else. I asked him to return that as well and he refused. The floors he laid are coming up, he damaged my new countertops, got paint on my appliances, and the trim work is marked up. When I told him I had to go back to work, (I am a school teacher) and that I would like the work finished up since he was so behind, he said my schedule didn't work with his and terminated the contract. He left my backsplash unfinished, and my garage is full of garbage from the reno. He won't answer texts or phone calls. We also found out he has a vast criminal record including a felony, theft charges, fraudulent card use, and lying to a police officer.

DO NOT USE JERDE CONSTRUCTIONS, JC RENOVATIONS, OR DRYKING WALLS. He owns all these businesses.

Type of a scam Home Improvement

Brian misrepresented himself as a licensed General contractor. He said he was a small business and conned us into handing over checks for him to buy materials and pay for sub contractors to work on our house. Instead he took off with the money and we have nothing to show for it a year later. He continues to so this to others in our community and needs ri be stopped.
