We called Jeffrey the Best Locksmith at 863-247-2420. When the locksmith arrived they were from 24/7 Locksmith but he had our name and our information so we thought it must be okay. 24/7 left me a card with their phone number 941-217-1114. We had just had this same job done 11 days before with A & A Locks and the cost was $400. I also ordered a "Smart Lock" and was told it was PAID IN FULL INCLUDING the INSTALL except for a $60 service call fee and that he should have it in about 2 weeks. I was told I needed to pay for it before they could order it. When the locksmith finished and told me the bill was $2,771.30 I almost fell over. I asked him to explain why this was such a higher price than the previous locksmith of $400 and he said they can charge what they like. I didn't know what to do but it did include the Smartlock and I didn't want to get sued so I paid the ridiculous price. I tried to pay with a check but they wouldn't allow it. They demanded that I pay with Zelle. I'd never heard of Zelle but my bank offered the service so I set up the account and paid the $2771.30. The bank put a temporary hold on the funds and I showed the locksmith that I had paid but he refused to leave until I called the bank and made the bank release the funds. I spent 51 minutes on the phone for Zelle. The locksmith called me the next day to tell me that it will take 6-8 months to get the Smartlock so he would buy me one at Lowes and install it for me. I told him to refund my $840 I paid for the Smartlock but he said the $2771 did NOT include the Smartlock. I KNEW THEN I HAD BEEN SCAMMED!! I tried to be calm but knew I had to try to get more information so I demanded they come back and fix one door that wasn't locking. When he came back I took a picture of his tag number and a video of him explaining my charges to me. HE WAS IN ON IT!!! He was SOOOOOO nice I couldn't believe he was in on it but he WAS!! His name is Tanner Golden and he's a young man with reddish hair. I intend to do everything possible to find ALL of these people and hopefully we can change FLORIDA STATE LAWS for REQUIRE such sensitive security businesses to REQUIRE a LICENSE, to be BONDED and the EMPLOYEES BONDED, and INSURED!!! How can this be happening? After looking at their reviews I saw they are scamming EVERYONE in one way or the other! Am I living in the Twilight Zone? What's wrong with the State of Florida to allow this?????
