Original scam message was sent from someone I knew stating they applied & received a government grant & I should apply. They sent me contact info. Was hesitant & kept verifying info with someone through messenger I thought I knew but when the asked for fees to be paid with gift cards I finally picked up the phone & called my friend & they told me they had been hacked.

A hacker contacted me from my cousin's Facebook messenger account and gave me Janet's number telling me about a grant for start up business.
