Type of a scam Romance

This man contacted me via an online dating site and we started an online relationship. I tried to hide it from everyone because I already felt guilty, and he encouraged me not to tell my kids or my church friends. My husband passed away 3 years ago. The man led me to believe he owned a company and had money but it was tied up due to covid and he needed some right now. He told me he would take care of me for life. I believed him and loaned him as much as I could. He thanked me and made me feel special. He kept asking me for more and i kept giving. My kids became concerned when they saw that I had withdrawn money and asked me what it was for. I am notoriously cheap. My son works in the AGs office in Kansas. He did a background check and his name did not come up in any records nor was the company registered in TN or found on the ScamPulse.com site. I confronted him and he stopped all contact. We reverse searched the photo he sent me of himself and it was a generic stock photo of a senior model somewhere in New Hampshire.
