I was in search of a rabbit; since losing my ESA rabbit. I found a page on Facebook claiming to be a reputable service. I have pictures and messages and emails where they tried to get me to send more money to a different website. I was going to pay cash and get the rabbit in person until they said they could deliver. I used Cashapp to pay and it had an option for me to decline or stop the payment, but they seemed honest and kept saying they had a kid in the hospital and that’s what was taking them so long to accept the payment. Once the payment was accepted they said they’d be sending the rabbit off by Monday. They sent tracking numbers but only after asking for my phone number and email. They already had my address. About 30 minutes later I receive a text and email about my rabbit being shipped off, but it said I had to pay an insurance fee. It gave 3 options. From $299-$499 with a 100% refund only available if you spend the $499. I asked the seller what this was about as I had already payed a delivery fee and that’s when I started to realize it was a scam. There was no number to call from the shipping website and the email I got verses the email on the website were different. I asked the seller multiple times for the number, as they said they called them to figure out why I had a payment. When they finally gave me the number it was a google account number and no one answered. Instead they texted me saying no one was in the office and tried to get me to send the money saying my rabbit could die without sending the money if they transport it. I told them I believed I was being scammed and that’s when they really doubled down on the money and apologizing for the inconvenience, but still not answering my questions.
