Imposter Whole Foods Market Reports & Reviews (86)

I received a priority mail envelope on June 23, 2020 with a letter from Whole Foods Market about doing a Whole Food Secret Shopper Survey. Enclosed was a cashier check of $2,850.00 from Peoplesbank at P.O. Box 5000, Tulsa, OK. Check Number 318922, with the remitter as Romona L. Martinez Warledo. The Instructions was to confirm the receipt of package through/via SMS to (210) 504-7205 or [email protected], the amount received, Bank Name of the check and your phone number. Deposit the check with any options that your bank offer: ATM deposit, Mobile Deposit or Bank deposit. Deduct your payment of $400.00. The first assignment was to evaluate any store selling EBAY GIFTS CARDS; Visit any 2-3 outlets close to you to purchase the cards. Pick any available denominations ($50, $100, $200 and $500) any buy the EBay gift cards worth up to $2,450. The next step was to provide the details from the survey: Store name, Address, Date and time of visit, Name of the cashier/Attendant (if visible on the ID Tag).

It then ask to provide whether the clerk thank you, the overall experience with the store staff, how long it took you to get checked out, then capture the images of the card front and back after scratched off using your phone camera and email it to [email protected]. I looked up the address on both the fake check and the postal mail and they both seem to be false information. In observing the information, I perceived it to be a scam and therefore did not follow the instructions as informed.

Received a text message out of nowhere sounding to good to be true. I didn’t click the link because I was thinking it would steal my information from my phone or something. So I tried to google the name on the link and nothing populated.

How the heck are you on a page that reports scams trying to plead that the scam is not a scam this is the funniest thing I’ve seen today. True scammer mess indeed. I’m not even seeing how people are being fooled by this. Use your heads people these scams have been going on for years. When will people stop believing them?

2/22/2020: I received a text in the parking lot of Whole Foods Market in Laguna Nigel, CA, stating “Whole Foods Market is starting an exceptionally huge research project in your general vicinity… so we need to choose Shopper to word as a store evaluator.” The text continues to state you will earn $400 for each endeavor, and provides a link to complete contact information. A couple of days later, I got a text stating my first evaluator assignment was being delivered tomorrow and to read and follow the instructions, and complete the task promptly to qualify for the reward. I received the U.S. Priority Mail package on Friday, 2/28/2020. A cashier’s check payable to my name, in the amount of $3,450, and “CUSTOMER SERVICE EVALUATION TOOL” were found in the Priority Mail envelope. The instructions state the check covers the assignment costs and my $450 evaluator fee.

Here’s the scam: Within 24 hours of receiving the priority package, you are asked to purchase three $500 gift cards from Walmart and three $500 gift cards from Target (a total of $3,000); and to scratch-off the silver area on the back of each gift card. Next, you are to take photos of the front and back of all six gift cards and text photos to two phone numbers provided in the instructions (712 357-5451 and 562 337-3429). The fake cashier check never clears your bank, and the crooks spend all 6 gift cards; and you’re out the $3,000.

I received sheet with instructions of how to proceed and a cashiers check for $2,950.52.

I was sent an email from Brian Bock at Whole Foods to be a secret surveyor. I recieved the email on friday 2/7/20 then recieved a check for $2950.85 via postal mail on monday 2/10/20. The email had stated I would recieve the check and had specific instruction on what to do once I recieved the check. I was to evaluate stores by buying EBay gift cards with $500 denomination or whatever was available at the store. I was to spend a certain amount at one store then go to another store and spend a certain amount. My salary for the assignment was $400.00. Once purchased I was to scratch the cards and take pictures front and back and email the pictures and receipts to this Brian Bock along with my store evaluations. Long story short, it all seemed to good to be true so I called the bank listed on the check and asked if it was fraudulent and of course it was. So I voided the check and trashed it and emailed this guy and told him I was reporting him. Please dont fall for these scams. Nobody is just gonna send you $3000.00 in the mail. Hope this helps someone!!!!

I was sent a Cashier's Check (without warning) for $2,950.52 from Natlite Grp. At first I thought it was legit because I have done Secret Shopping before. What got my attention was the fact that the check was from a credit union in Universal City, TX, which I was to deposit in my account. First of all, I was to deduct $450 for my payment. My assignment was to buy 5 Nike gift card @ $500 ea. After purchasing the cards I was to open the and peel the silver scratch -off area on the card and capture the image of the card front and back. I was to complete a series of questions and email the answers to them along with the image of the gift card.

In any situation, concerning upfront money try contacting the bank or credit union. This one didn't work on me. Be ware!

CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!! The premise of this scam is to use a well-known market place such as Whole Foods to lure you to believe that you can become their Secret Shopper. The goal is to prey on a target population of consumers to steal their identity and ultimately access bank account and credit card information to steal your money. There system extort phone numbers, create a fake application form with the Whole Foods Logo which entails filling in demographic information. with your email address and phone number, minus the SS# info. An attachment of the fraudulent text message received from this anonymous caller has been circulated. Copies of the Survey Letter and false Check was reported to all my Financial Institutions.

Received a random text from ‘Mark Henderson’ said he was from Whole Foods and I was selected to be a secret shopper for $450. I received a certified letter and a check for 2950.52. The instructions were to deposit check in my account and buy 2,500 worth of Nike gift cards.

I just got the same check $2950.52. Only thing is that spelled my name wrong on the check? Its Shelia not Elia?

Scammer had on-line advertisement looking for secret shopper to help Whole Foods provide better service to their customers. After replying to the add I received a text confirming I had been selected and that I had a letter in my mail with my first assignment. In the mail was a USPS priority mail envelope with an assignment to buy e-bay gift cards in the amount of $2000. A cashier's check for $2450.00. $450 was my payment and $2000 was to buy the gift cards. Instructions were to buy the cards, tear off the silver strip and photograph both sides of the card and send the pictures and my report on the staff to the text number. Within two days I got another delivery with the same instructions and another cashier's check for $2450.00. I googled secret shopper scams and there it was...the exact sceneo and by the time you spent the $2000 the bank would have discovered the cashier's check was a phoney and I would have been out all that money.

Got a text from the above phone number saying Whole Foods Market was doing research for mystery shoppers, and a link to a wixpage website that only required name, email, address, ect to sign up. Signed the text Respects Manager-Global Operations Steve Carter. I researched before filling out anything and found out that the same scenario was listed on ScamPulse.com scamtracker for whole foods so luckily didn't sign up! Be careful

I was contacted by whole foods also to complete purchases and complete a survey on my shopping experience. I did not need to do much to receive a $2,450 check from this scam. I barely responded to any email that they sent and was sent my first assignment. I was immediately

suspicious that this was a scam. I have done nothing with any of the information or checks that I have received.

Was sent the text message and it looked legitimate until I tried researching the job on the company's website and also there were spelling and punctuation errors on the 'sign up page.' Plus it did not mention that you have to fill out HR paperwork.
