I received an email from What appeared to be Blue Cross Blue Shield, it was using the Blue Cross Blue Shield federal employee logo. It informed me that my coverage had ended due to employee status change and that my coverage end date was 2 months ago.They stated any file claims prior to that date Should be filed. It’s stated they were happy to have been my administrator of my account. If I had any questions to call 888–706–2583.When I called that number they answer it as Blue Cross Blue Shield and then ask for my personal information to assist me (recording only option to move forward). After giving that they told me they could not verify anything regarding my insurance coverage and transferred me to someone else. Again was transferred to another person trying to scam me to a different company. If I had done that my insurance would have been canceled and not an option for me forever. This is a senior citizen fraud, Medicare fraud and Blue Cross fraud as well as a federal employee Retiree fraud. I tried to call back and speak with someone and did not get any further. I called the number on the back of my insurance card and they told me that everything was fine with my policy. This BC BS agent did call the number and they kind of back down a little bit. I tried calling back and they would not let me speak to a supervisor and hung up on me. Problem is they have my full date of birth and last four social as required by the recording to move forward with this fraudulent contact.
