I tried to contact PayPal about purchases I had made but not received. I went to PayPal website and called the phone number listed on the page. They answered the phone with a greeting from PayPal so, I proceeded to tell them about my concerns. The man I spoke with (he called himself A J) gave me instructions to go to Walmart or Dollar General and purchase a $50 Google Play card and give the number to him, explaining this would verify it was my account. I did so and he then instructed me to purchase a $100 Google Play to verify I was the principle user of the account. He was very specific about using my credit card so that it would verify it was me. He further instructed me not to let the cashier know what I was doing or she would charge me a tax that was not reimbursable. He assured me that the $150 would be returned to my card, plus an additional $9 for the inconvenience. He assured me that I would receive a text within minutes stating all the charges I had made through PayPal so that I could follow up with the purchases that I had not received. He went further to state that they (PayPal) would take necessary steps to insure I got the products I had paid for within 72 hours. The text never came. I tried calling them again but my number must have been blocked as it would disconnect each time I tried. I scrolled to the bottom of the website and saw another phone number that was listed as the number for customer service. I called and explained to them what had transpired. They replied that they never make those kinds of requests. I tried to correct the problem through my credit card but, was told it was a legitimate purchase therefore they could do nothing to assist me. My loss!
