I received a message from the number reported:

“This is Heather Moore with county process serving division. We have legal documents being served to you at your home as well as your place of employment tomorrow between the hours of 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM that requires signature upon delivery. If no one will be available over the age of 18 or if you wish to redirect service away from your employer, it is imperative you contact Goldman and Associates at 943-207-9641 and refer to case number 0891 Call is being logged for today and will satisfy the courts requirement of notification…”

I looked into Goldman and Associates and they don’t seem to have a presence in Georgia, or even deal in debt collection (being a family attorney out of Michigan). The numbers given by the caller don’t come back to a known attorney or debt collectors office.

I got a call from someone pretending to be Goldman and Associates and they called a couple of my family members. Saying I failed to appear for a hearing! I got a phone call and so did my aunt and cousin who have the last name as me!

A caller named Brian from the County Process Serving Department contacted me. I did not answer because I avoid picking up unfamiliar numbers. As my phone continued to ring, it went to voicemail. The pre-recorded message indicated it was for my wife and informed her that a preliminary hearing had been scheduled for her today at 9 AM. It further explained that due to her failure to participate in the hearing or submit a written response to the complaint associated with her Social Security number, a motion is now being filed against her in court. The message also directed her to contact the law firm Goldman and Associates at the phone number 943-207-9579.

Called me, I didn't answer so they left a voice message. She said her name was Jan Kim from the county process serving division, said papers were being served to my address the next day between 11:30 and 2:30. Said papers would also be sent to my employer. If I wanted to redirect them I needed to call Goldman and Associates at 404-868-1427.

I had a debt with a charged off bank account that was 6 years old. All of the sudden I started getting bombarded with debt collectors from several different area codes. I spoke with one , that we will refer to as Bob. ( who may also be a scam, I am still trying to find out) Bob tells me I will be charged with breach of contract, all of my bank accounts will be closed , I will not be able to have a checking acct for 10 years etc . I set up 2 payment arraingements for a total of 1005.00. Which they take. and send me a letter stating this account is paid in full, I have a 0 balance and case is closed. In the mean time I am still getting SEVERAL calls from 2 different companys wanting money for this account. Goldman and Associates called my work, my ex husband, my ex father in law etc. everytime I called them back they told me a different story of why my case had not been " closed " and assured me it would be taken care of, and to disregard any other calls. ....2 weeks later..still getting calls. I never get the same person twice. So this time I get Racheal Clark who is the " supervisor" . Long story short...she tells me that i have been scammed by " BOB" and that If i pay her 200.00 she will act as my legal liason and immediately stop further charges .. I say I dont have 200.00 she immediately says ok..50.00. Scared and confused I agreed to the 50.00 she then tells me not to ever contact ' Bob " again, dispute my payments with Bob and when I get my money back from them ( through the bank ) call her and pay the bill. She would email me an authorization form to sign so she could charge the 50..00. I never signed the paper and the 50.00 was debited anyway. The next day I call Bob...tell them the story..they immediately call Rachael , who states they have no attourney there to speak with them and hangs up on them. ( Bob ). Bob issued a cease and desist order against them. Now trying to get 50.00 back.
