pop up on computer. says in order to fix computer i must call (expert for help) it was 2 am and i was trusting that this was legitimite. i called the phone number on the pop up. someone calling himself steve advised me that i would have to pay 150 dollars for his help. he then changed the amount to 450 dollars. he asked me for my credit card information and my checking account information. . he told me to turn off my computer and he would fix it and call me when he was done. about 10 minutes later he called me and told me to turn on my computer. i did so and it worked again. in the morning i called Best Buy (where i had just purchased the item that the pop up appeared on. they advised me that this was a scam. nothing but a scam. this happened on may 23 and since then i have had 9 calls from them trying to get the 450 dollars. they are unable to access my money because i called my bank in the morning and had that part taken care of. the names that the callers use are steve stella and jessica. they sound east indian.
