Answered job ad on Indeed. Was asked to pursue interview on an app called Signal. Once it became clear that they were asking for banking/personal information, I saw it as a red flag.

The scammer was Brittany Morgan and has HR Assistant on her telegram account. Here are the details

We are delighted to extend this offer of employment to you for the position of a Data Entry Clerk with

IGE Therapeutics. You will be required to complete the following tasks to proceed with what comes next

in your hiring process.

Important: Please follow the link below to watch a video that highlights the blockchain software we

utilize for data entry. It provides valuable insights into how you can get started.

1. You will be required to complete an identity verification process. Ms Morgan will walk you

through this process

2. To begin using the blockchain data entry software, kindly note that you will need to subscribe to

a plan. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet,

which must match the name on their account. Therefore, the company will issue an expense

check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds

from the check to fund your blockchain wallet. Our HR assistant (Ms Morgan) will guide you

through the necessary steps to help you get started.

Please Note: The Employment agreement can be found below this letter. Kindly sign and return same via

email in acceptance. If you accept this offer, your start date will be 2

nd of October 2023 or another

What happens that you mobile deposit the check made out to the the victim and this is where the scam begins. A week later the check for $1960 was returned as counterfeit. I made a police report and I am prosecuting the scammer. Please beware of any one who sends checks in your name to your email, text or mail without checking with you back first or credit union.

Job offer for data entry clerk, no interview, just a short assessment online. 27$ per hour.

Stated company will provide equipment, provides check to deposit then places it on hold with your bank and asks you to front 1000$ for the equipment to be reimbursed on your first check.

I was hired for a package checker making allegedly $3,600 a month working remotely I was in contact with multiple people who I thought were supervisors/employees etc. Packages were sent to my home, I filled out payroll paperwork W-2 forms was given a payment date and never received my direct deposit!

I applied for a job on indeed. Saw his job post for a front desk receptionist. I applied. A few days later I get a email that my application was approved for interview to contact *** *** for further instructions. I emailed him, few days later he responded stating that the receptionist position has been filled but he has a personal assistant job opened. If I was interested resend my name address email number to him. So I did so. An he said in a couple weeks once he’s back in town he’ll set up a face to face interview an get all paperwork done. After couple days he emailed me letting me know that he needed me to purchase some supplies an food etc for a foster home that he was gonna send me the funds to do so. I wrote back telling him I don’t feel comfortable sending my banking info to someone I haven’t even met. I never got a response back for about 3 days. Then he messaged me on 8/6/2019 letting me know that a check was sent to my house via fedex once I receive it to deposit once I do so to let him know so we can go on with purchasing items for foster home. The check was $4,950.00. For some reason before I deposited it I went ahead and looked up his name only to find that he was involved in the Azscam an that he was convicted years ago. But obviously didn’t learn his lesson because he’s back on it. I was only looking for a job did not know I would get scammed. Now his texting my cell phone. He has my address an all. So I feel very uncomfortable.
