I got an email from HR at EmployBridge about a possible job as a UX researcher and went through creating a Microsoft teams account to go through an interview and onboarding process with a senior recruiter who I communicated via chat. The interview process took about a week to complete. I received a congratulatory email along with several documents watermarked. The recruiter reached out via teams and asked for my phone number so the head of HR can call me. I got a call from a very well-spoken male named "Brandon Ryan" telling me that the company has hired me and I would need to buy the equipment for reimbursement. I got fooled and sent funds to a third-party vendor who handles the company equipment for $1688 to purchase the company iPad. After the transaction they said they will reimburse my ipad with an Echeck that could be deposited and used to purchase a macbookpro which will be sent with the ipad once I purchase again which I didn't. This imposter seemlingly has multiple if not hundreds of fake LinkedIn accounts that are being used to target folks who are in need for jobs. It has gone to the extreme with well coordinated and curated interviews to scam. Please be aware.
