We called Edify for a monthly check up on computer and were told that our Apple Anti-Virus on our 2011 computer had expired? it is now 2023. They told us that we had 2 or 3 virus on our computer and that we needed to pay them $199.99 to add an Anti-Virus whatever. We are not savvy at all about computers and that is why we have worked with them for several years to keep our computers safe and protected. My husband later started checking past records and found that they had added an anti-virus a year or so ago and that the coverage had not expired. we called back to inquire why the additional $199.99 fee was for since the last anti-virus had not expired. We were told that that must have been a mistake? an that that anti-virus was free (It was part of a package of protection that we had purchased). There was nothing to indicate that that was free on their email to us listing what we paid them and what it was for. We have paid since february 2021 over $1,700.00 for all sorts of services. We are confused and want to know that we are being treated fairly.

Caller, David said there were issues with my computer and that I needed to log in right away so it could be resolved. Advised I was not available right now and David started yelling and disconnected the call. I called back and advised him I needed additional information. I did not feel comfortable so I blocked the phone number.

My daughter just ended up on a tech support call with Edify Technologies. The Microsoft Office installation they had was not working and something popped up and told her to call their number for support. She did, and she allowed them to control her computer. They opened a few windows and told her that her drivers are not working and needed to be licensed. They then tried to HARD sell a $300+ 5-year license subscription to fix it, or some other amount for a lifetime subscription. When she declined, they explained that it needed to ixed now or it might not ever work (big red flag... a sense of "urgency"?) She did not take the bait because they cannot afford it, and her husband wasn't home to discuss it. She called me and I told her she did the right thing, but I'm still worried about what may have been planted while they had control of her computer.
