Scammers used a lengthy three months to fake a JCPenney sweepstakes on the JCPenney app, leading me to believe it was legit. It was called the “Clear Your Cart” sweepstakes which would award 500 people a $500 voucher to be used on JCPenney merchandise. I was asked to take a picture of my receipt(s) and upload it during the months of November and December. I was notified by email sometime in Jan/Feb letting me know that I had won. There were even legit looking 4-5 pages of contest rules. They claimed to be Prizelogic/ebbo. I even googled them and the company seemed legit. “Clarus Commerce Rebrands as ebbo Following PrizeLogic Acquisition.” An email I recently received shows an online code and voucher number. The online code worked. The voucher number did not. I called JCPenney and after getting through to a manager, learned that it was a scam.
