I found a 1998 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 4x4 on Facebook listed by Diane Bort, Ft Belvoir, VA for $1,200. I received an email from eBay Buyer Protection ([email protected]) advising me that "Payment use be submitted via eBay Cards". It went on to say I was guaranteed 100% protection and insurance. Then it said "For security reasons the eBay Cards needs to be completed in person at any CVS, Rite Aid, Dollar General, Family Dollar. I purchased 6 eBay Gift Cards from CVS on Maysville Pike in Zanesville, OH. There was a warning on the card to make sure it wasn't a scam. Then I got an email saying the payment had been forwarded to their "specialized payment department", and then I would be contacted by their "Shipping Company Representative". Then I got an email from [email protected], the shipping company. Their email reads: there is an issue. your item was stopped. your item is not insured. first insurance for the 7 days inspection period and another insurance for transportation. The seller paid for both but the item was valued by our Department more than the price you agreed with the seller, you need to make a FULLY REFUNDABLE insurance deposit of $1,000 because the item was undervalued. The shipping process is on HOLD. For security reasons the eBay Gift Cards needs to be completed in person with cash at any CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Walgreens, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Fred's Super Dollar, Walmart and anywhere you see the eBay Gift Cards sign. Please Note! Once you bought the eBay Gift Cards adn loaded the debit, you have to confirm your payment by replying to this email with the: eBay Gift Cards Numbers (13 digit Redemption Code on the back of the card) We are waiting for your payment. Trust and Safety Department eBay Inc." I did not pay for the insurance. I can no longer find the truck ad.

I attempted to purchase 2 tractors through craigslist. After several attempts to verify availability & locations. I recieved a 2 texts both saying they are selling for their mothers and gave me email addresses to correspond directly to their mothers. Both mothers claim to be 50 years old both with husbands that died two months ago. They both worked on cruise ships and said the tractors are in good shape and will be sold by EBay Buyer Protection. Ebay then sent a contract with directions that I needed to send the money via wire transfer and the tractor will be sent to your choice of address of choice in 3 days free shipping. You will have five days of trial with a full refund if dissatisfied. The seller will be responsible for all charges.
