Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
So I get a call from this recorded message - a woman with pleasant professional voice who says that I have been approved for up to $15k, just return the call. First I checked where the number was located , Santa Monica, according to one of those verify number websites, however I know this is the area code in San Diego, but no matter people can take their number with them nowadays. I call it and man with a hard accent to place but in very good English who introduces himself as Antonio William asks me how much do I wish to borrow so I say $5000. he then says the loan is approved at 10% with 27 payments of $297 per month, then he goes over my application and verifies my bank routing and account number, he did not ask if I had direct deposit. Then he come to the critical part, he wants my banking online ID and pin to check the account..,and that is where they get you. Never give this info out, they do not need it, but if you do they will indeed deposit the check today for your use the next business day for the agreed upon amount or an amount very similar to it
Then you think it over and decide to change your password and pin to protect yourself, they tell you the money will be available at 10 am which is not true the money is available at 6am. By 6:01 am they have already withdrawn ``as much money out of your account as possible funds, and guess what the check they deposited electronically will turn out to be counterfeit. I saw a very good counterfeit tax refund check from the U.S. Treasury that slipped through B of A until 3 days later but you're on the hook for any money paid out to other accounts over your actual balance because you gave them the information they needed. They called me about the pin and online nme but ZI did not take tht cll.
