Received phone call stating it was Department of Labor. When asked to clarify which Department of Labor the caller (female with a hint of an island accent) stated "yes the Dept. of Labor". I asked again for clarity on Dept. of Labor asking are you with the state and she stated "yes the Department of Labor for the state of GA" and attempted to get my name. Again I asked why you would be calling someone asking for their name from the Dept. of Labor, you should have direct knowledge of whom your attempting to contact. I told her I was on to her and that this was a scam phone call in which she quoted some website for me to verify which I was unable to capture the website she quoted. I again told her this was a scam call. She stated it was not and that the "U.S. Dept. of Labor" is not a scam and she needed my name or business name. I told her she just verified this is a scam call because she stated that she was Dept. of Labor, State of GA which is actually GA DOL and then she stated US Dept. of Labor and she said that "they are one in the same." I laughed at her and said absolutely not, one is a state entity and one is a federal entity and as you would guess she hung up." Wish I had not shared the two entities are separate now because I just fed her with knowledge she can use on the next caller.
