The scammer business, darkpick.com, sells horror and Halloween merchandise -- primarily graphic t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. I received a targeted ad via Instagram for their sleeveless shirts, which I found to be of great interest. I ordered the yellow Evil Dead sleeveless shirt. When I received the item, I was shocked because it was a clean-cut sports jersey-style shirt and not what was advertised on their website. I immediately emailed them and requested a return authorization and address. They responded by asking for the reason for my dissatisfaction so they could provide "accurate solutions." I informed them that the shirt was misrepresented on the website as I was expecting a true cut-off shirt, but the item was a jersey based on the fabric.

Their "solution" was for me to keep the item and to gift it to a family or friend because sending it back to them would take a long time and be costly. Plus a 20% discount on my next order -- which I would never do based on my disappointment. See their response below.

"If what you receive works, can you keep the items? If you don't like it ,and you can put it to your relatives or friends as a gift .So you don't have to bother sending the item back to us. Since it is international shipping, it could be expensive and takes long.

We are willing to give you a 20% discount on the next order and then you can use it to re-order a new one."

I replied by saying I found it very bizarre that they were trying to convince me to keep an item I was not satisfied with, making it very difficult to return -- truly unprofessional. And I wanted their return authorization and address.

Their follow-up response gave the excuse that returning it to China would be a difficult process and now increased the discount offer to 30%. See below.

"We apologize that our previous solution didn't meet your expectations.

We are so sorry that our warehouse is in China, so we can only provide you with a Chinese return address. If you send it back, there will be a higher possibility it will be stuck in customs and there is tax fee needs to be paid.

To ensure that you do not experience any further inconvenience or loss, we would like to suggest an alternative solution. If you choose to keep the order instead of sending them back, we will give you 30% discount for your next order. May I have your opinion?"

I replied once more and had to remind of their return policy in which the first line states, "We hope you love your order, but if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase we accept returns & exchanges."

Their response was shockingly terrible -- that my refund would only be 10% of the original price paid and with the condition that it must be resold before the refund can be issued. See below.

"According our policy, for non-quality return issue, the customer is responsible for return shipping cost and any other related return charges.

After applied, the max compensation we can offer is 10% refund and a 30% off(you can use it on your next order)

If you disagree this offer, please return the original item with order# to the below address through local post.

In conclusion, darkpick.com is a deceitful company that sells fraudulent merchandise and refuses to accept any returns.

The scammer used Facebook to show a product that looked high quality in all the images. This was a Halloween like Mask with skulls, gears, and a tendril like almost venom strand like look all over it. What I received was comically different than the photos provided for the product. The product looks like a cheap knock off plastic mask made for 10 cents where as the images make it look like solid material, detailed textures and color, and the straps that hold it looked sturdy. The received product is flimsy, faded, the strap is barely stapled/pressed on, and is in no way the same product.
