E-ZPass - Your outstanding toll must be paid before March 6, 2025, to avoid DMV restrictions. Non-payment may result in a hold on your records, affecting your ability to renew your driver’s license. Avoid these complications by ensuring your balance is paid on time.

This was a phishing scam attempting to collect money and personal information using the E-Z Pass fee as their bait.

- Houston, TX, USA

You currently have unpaid tool balances that must be resolved by March 14th 2025. Delaying payment may lead to driving restrictions imposed by the DMV, fines, or court summonses. Quickly address your outstanding fees at HTTPS: // cutt.ly/cruzTLSP?vUE=abn7pb902n

I received a text claiming to be from TxTag, saying I owed $0.18, with a link included. When I clicked it, it took me to a website that looked exactly like the official TxTag site. I entered my card information, but it gave me an error saying my payment wasn’t supported. When I called TxTag, they informed me that they only communicate via mail, not texts or emails. That’s when I realized I had been scammed.

- Murfreesboro, TN, USA

This text was sent to me immediately after returning home to TN from a roadtrip to Ohio through KY.

"E-ZPass: Your unpaid toll must be resolved by March 10, 2025, to ensure you maintain an active driver’s license status. If payment is not received, your ability to legally drive could be affected due to DMV restrictions. Additionally, unpaid tolls may lead to increased fines or further enforcement actions. I answered a job offer with Circle Medical Technologies, Inc, for a remote job, for the position of Medical data entry associate. I did an interview through texting. I filled out an application through the link that was shared. I gave my name, birthdate, street address, and phone number. They asked for a copy of front and back of my drivers license and a picture of me. I uploaded the picture, but NOT my drivers license. The scammer attempted to get me to deposit an echeck, and once it cleared my bank, wanted me to purchase computer equipment from a vendor that they would send me a link to. At this point, I was pretty sure this was a scam. I told them I would not launder money for them.

Non stop text messages posing as USPS. The message states: Your shipment has been processed at our facility but is currently on hold due to incomplete delivery address information. Please enter a valid address otherwise the package will be returned. The US Postal team wishes you a wonderful day.

Followed by the suspicious link.

Not sure the link just brings you to the usps web site

Got a text message from +61 478-248–577 saying “ U.S.P.S - The package has arrived at the warehouse and cannot be delivered due to incomplete address information.Confirm your address at the link. https://cutt.ly/8wiBEgir” so I clicked on it because I have ordered online recently and the website it took me too looked like the real usps website. I put in my address and then it said there is a .30 cent re delivery charge and it asked my my card information. I googled to see if they usually charge for redeliveries because that seemed strange. Turns out the don’t charge and I did not put in my information, then blocked the number

- Warren, MI, USA

takes you to fake website prompts you for personal information and card info

- Boston, MA, USA

I received a text message from 980-401-7208 that read "[USPS Tracking]: You have a package that failed to deliver due to missing address information, please update your address through cutt.ly/R2OkCn0 and redeliver." I clicked the link and it took me to what looked like the USPS website. I entered my address information and hit "next" and was sent to a page to collect my credit card information. I closed out of the browser knowing at this point it was a scam.
