I found a horse trailer for sale on Craigslist. I used the REPLY button and texted the phone number listed, which was a local area code. I didn't get a response for a couple days, as this was during the holidays. I was directed by text to their website and saw several trailers for sale. I googled the business and clicked on reviews, confirmed an actual brick and morter address in New Jersey, in an attempt to verify that it was a legitimate business. I selected the trailer I wanted to purchase from the website, asked questions, asked for additional pictures and asked about the process for purchasing a trailer I hadn't seen in person. They started emailing me contracts and whatnot and were fairly communicative during the payment process. I wired money to their financial institution and got a confirmation that they received the wire. I had a delivery scheduled for January 27, 2025, with a tracking number and instructions about the logistics of the delivery. I never received a call from the shipper, and the trailer never arrived. I've been trying to reach them every day since and they have gone dark. And the website now requires a username and password. And I am out $3000.
