At first, I received an email Thank you for your interest in joining our team! they received my application, they liked my qualifications, and selected for an interview with HR Manager Andre Crisler with Crystal Quick Service. They sent me an offer and a link to an app called Telegram to schedule the interview. My interview was by text only which I thought was odd. He texted back and stated that they liked my qualifications and offered me the job. They sent me a blank W-4 and an Offer Letter by email for me to fill out and send back. He then stated that they would send me a check for me to purchase the office equipment/supplies for work. I then asked why they would not just order and have it delivered, no response. He then kept asking me daily if I had received the check and to deposit ASAP. I received a suspicious type of check and he told me to deposit it in the bank ATM machine. The Bank put a Hold Notice on the check and clearance would take 3-5 business days. After the 5 days the Bank returned the check due to altered/fictitious print. He then told me that they would have the office equipment/supplies delivered, but it has been almost 30 days that the purchase has not cleared and that I had not started by position yet. I gave my previous employer 2-weeks notice and Andre from CQS assured me that I would be starting my new position at 9:00 am with training on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. I keep asking for any updates and when I would be starting but no response.
