Scammer identified himself as a representative of Chase Bank and said that someone was attempting to open a credit card in my name. As I had never been to Dallas, TX, I told the person that it was not me who was trying to open the account. I was given a case number and was told I would need to talk with someone in their fraud department. At that point, I began to suspect this was a scam. I hung up. The person called me back but left no message. I received a second call from a different Chase Bank in Birmingham, AL. I didn't answer, but looked up the phone number online to confirm. Following up with Chase Bank, a representative said this is not how they do business.
