I received a bill stating that it was from Cox Communications. I have never had an account with them and they asked for a pin. Once they realized that the notice was a collection notice, they told me that they didn't need a pin, but the name of my first pet. They said that the information was checked out. When I told them that my internet service is included with my rent, they stated that the complex has a contract, but that is my responsibility to pay. I have never received a bill at my address and I've been here for a year. I believe this is a scam. When I confronted them about it, they responded that the account must be mine, since I was able to answer the security question, yet when I sign on the website, the system is not able to find me by my phone number or email. This is concerning, since I was once a victim of identity theft. I would like to report this fraud as soon as possible.
