I was contacted by phone by David from Corvana Med Staffing via Indeed for a CNA contract at a local hospital. He connected me with his manager, Charles William, via email to proceed with the onboarding process. He requested that I run and pay for my own background check, stating that I would be reimbursed on the first paycheck. I have been in this industry for over a decade and have never been asked by an employer to pay for my own background check or use a website not registered through a government entity. I realized both Charles and David had the same phone number. I was then unable to verify the legitimacy of the business beyond the website and Indeed. I called the local hospital the contract was supposedly through, and was informed of no such agreement between them and Corvana Med Staffing.
