I recently opened a small business, creating an LLC. I have now received 6 letters from this scammer that I need to file an annual report with the state. They are charging unsuspecting new business owners for something that is free with the state, hoping the new business owner soon departs with their money.

They sent an official-looking letter addressed to my LLC asking for money necessary to file legal documents to the Vermont SOS. They intentionally misspelled "entity" as "enttity" in their business name.

Very well-designed mailed letter looking extremely official, with codes to camera-scan and barcodes (which I think were actually fake), telling me to send $60 to file my state annual business report, plus an $85 processing fee, plus an extra $5.95 online processing fee. If you read ALL the fine print, the document does grudgingly admit that it is from a third-party entity.

This same scammer has targeted my business attempting to get me to pay exorbitant rates to file my sam.gov yearly address update.

I received a paper from the person saying that Annual meeting minutes for shareholders, directors and officers. I have just registered my company in NY and got this letter for the money checque of $165.

This commercial company sent a form specifically designed to look like one from the government of the state of FL. The letter cites several government codes pertaining to corporations, and gives the impression that more documentation is required by the state that is actually not needed or requested. It contained a call to submit an Annual Minutes Statement with an associated fee of $155. It purposefully states a very close respond by date to instill a false sense of urgency. This same company has had several complaints and actions against it by the BBB, in different addresses and company names.

I recently moved my LLC and Corporation from PA to FL in October, 2015. I received request forms for 2015 Annual Minutes Statement with requirements to fill in Director information and send in $135 for each entity. I contacted my attorney who informed me it was a scam. I am filing a complaint with you and the FTC.

I would expect that this scam is targeting all new business and possibly current ones in Florida.
