They scammed me out of $200 and kept calling when they couldn’t receive payments. They really had me fooled like they were part of the U.S. Department of Education! I gave them all my personal info! It was like they were so legit! The signing document was sent to my screen and all! I can’t believe I really lost money like this! I even received follow-up emails!

Cornerstone Doc Prep is scam. They deliberately misled when sent a letter by mail with offer to help consolidate my student loan provided by Federal Department of Education.
I believed that the Cornerstone doc prep was legit and associated with Department of Education. I paid them $799 for preparation of Income Drive Repayment Plane. After they told me my monthly payment would be $39 for 20 years and after the rest of my student loan will be forgiven. Thus, Cornerstone doc prep will certify that I am on the student loan forgiveness program. Since March 2021 I made monthly payments $39. I was concerned because my student loan has not improved. I didn’t find any confirmation at my account that I am on the loan forgiveness program. I called to EDFinancial Servicer and the representative explained me that to sign Income Drive Repayment Plane is free for charge. Student loan consolidation is free. My Servicer said that they didn’t have any information that I enrolled on the loan forgiveness program. I called to Department of Education and they didn’t heard about Cornerstone DocPrep. Thus, Cornerstone Doc Prep scammed me. They charged me every month $39 for nothing.
I have found the $39 has not been applied for my account. I tried to contact for last two month to the customer service to stop “ $39 service” but no one answer. I sent several e-mails but they all returned. But they continue charge $39 from my account.
Do not trust Cornerstone Doc Prep. They are 100% SCAM.

This is so disappointing. I thought cornerstone doc prep was legit. I first received a letter in the mail inviting me to call this loan forgiveness program. I then paid for all the forms for them to prepare and consolidate my loans. $799. They did and I’m now working with Mohela. This is a high class sophisticated scam. I’ve literally been paying $39 a month since last August 2021 when someone brought to my attention that loan forgiveness programs don’t charge you monthly for programs. Then the last few months, I realized that I could no longer reach them by phone or by email. I was literally calling to make a payment and they completely disappeared off the face of the Earth. I was literally paying for no reason at all wow. My money was literally being pocketed. Then I checked ScamPulse.com only to realize that so many people have been scammed by this company wow. First time I’ve been scammed in life. Cornerstone doc prep please refund me all my money. So so disappointed.

I was contacted by Cornerstone Doc Prep in reference to my student loans with the Department of Education. A representative explained the company's ability to reduce the total repayment amount of my student loans due to my disability status. I was told that in signing with this company, I would make an initial down payment of $899 and 240 monthly payments of $99. At the end of the payment period, my student loans would be moved to a paid in full status. My wife submitted paperwork to the Department of Education in January to have my student loan repayment waived due to my total and permanent disability status through the VA. When I received notification that my student loans were dismissed by the Department of Education. I contacted Cornerstone Doc Prep. I was told by a representative that an investigation would have to occur, then someone would contact me and left know if or when my payments to their company would cease. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told no one was available. I then replied that I demanded the payments stop immediately and I would be contacting my bank to stop all payments to their company. I have not received any calls or emails from Cornerstone Doc Prep.

I was told when I signed and mailed my Direct Consolidation Form and Income Driven Repayment Request form with them that my payments would be going directly to my loan and that after 20 years the loan would be forgiven. The monthly payments were set low, at $39 a month. I was told that the initial fee for service would be $899, which would be broken into 3 payments of $599.34 on March 17th 2021, $299.67 on March 31st of 2021, and $39.00 on April 17th 2021. After a year I signed up for school and found out i was being scamed by them.I did more research online and saw that Cornerstone Doc Prep has been scamming people in the same way and telling them that their payments would be going toward their loans when in reality all they've done is submit the necessary forms to Mohela for loan consolidation (which could be done by yourself) and then they charge you $900 dollars for the preparation and pocket the monthly payments that you believe are supposed to go to your loans, which puts you in more trouble because your loans are not being paid off. After confronting a rep about this I was told that what I had been told is not true and that the reason for the $900 initial fee and monthly fees is for them to keep submit the paper work and keep up with the forms needed to be submitted annually. At this point I asked for them to cancel my account and confirmed my withdrawal of consent to have any payments withdrawn from my account by Cornerstone Doc Prep. ALL I ASK FOR IS A REFUND I GOT KIDS AND REAL LOAN PAYMENTS DUE.

Cornerstone Doc Prep stated they would help consolidate my student loan and provided by Federal Department of Education. They charged $799 divided into two $399.50 payment, which would be applied to consolidated federal student loans, plus $39.00 monthly payments for 20 years (240 months), which would total $9,360. If I gained employment with a government job or non-profit organization and worked for 10 years, the loan forgiveness would be completed sooner. They stated they would pay off the balance of my student loans. They also stated I would need to reapply yearly. I received a letter from Mohela, a federal student loan servicer. When I called Mohela, I found out they had not received any payment since my loans were consolidated. I called, Cornerstone, but it is impossible to reach anyone. This is such a scam to prey on low-income hard working people trying to find help from debt.

This happened to me, get your money back now. You are still in the 30 day window to to so. They are a document PREP company, the money you pay them is to prep your documents, it goes nowhere towards your student loans. FAFSA will do this for you for free. Contact them now! Get your money back.

I paid a lump sum of money for loan forgiveness. They take out money each month. I was concerned because my credit has not improved. I need to verify if legitimacy please

It is not legit. Get your money back now. I had to beg for weeks to get my money back. None of the money goes toward your student loans.

Upon my research I also was scammed for about $838 dollars, I thought it was for my student loans but it's just for some outrageous service that doesn't work I contacted my federal student loans agency and they have no paperwork that was supposedly documented to help my balance. And I've tried contacting these people to get to the bottom line and they aren't returning any of my calls. Don't fall for this trap they are nothing but scammers they told me all I needed to do was pay 39.00 for 10 years and I'll be good on my debt but none of that is going towards my student loans.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!

Upon receiving a letter that appeared to be from a government program. I called them as they offered student loan consolidation support. On the phone, they informed me based on my personal information and income, they could consolidate my student loans and I would just have to pay $39.00 a month for 20 years, and then my student loans would be forgiven. They also charged $799.99 to enroll in their program. It now appears that the only thing they really did was send an application for student loan consolidation on my behalf and that the $39.00 monthly fee was just an additional fee for their service. Do not trust this company! I have contacted them and they have refused to give me a refund. Read anything they send you very carefully before signing.

Received a letter in the mail for student debt consolidation, called the number and spoke with a gentlemen about consolidating my loans and see if I qualified. He assured me that I did and in order for them to move forward I needed to pay 799.00 up front and in addition pay 39.00 a month for 125 months. The 39.00 would be applied to my loan amount. I have since found out that the 39.00 has not been applied to my account and I tried to call the contact person and the customer service number, the customer service number I was provided in an e-mail keeps disconnecting and the gentleman's direct line goes directly to a voice mail message. So beware everyone from Navient to the Department of Education has not heard of this company or if they have said they are not affiliated with them. Navient offers free service to consolidate your loans!

Cornerstone Doc is not to be trusted. I was halfway to providing the documentation until I realized something was off. I called my student loan provider and they confirmed with me that they indeed were a fraudulent entity / company. Half the damage was done at this point since all my personal information was compromised. Fortunately, I didn’t end up finishing the process or paying their “fee”, however better to be safe than sorry. I froze all my credit from the 3 major credit bureaus for the time being, and am planning to close and recreate a new bank account.

Hello, I called after getting a mailing for a loan forgiveness and I ended up speaking with Cornerstone Doc Prep. They said if I paid $899 as a one time payment they would pay off the interest that already has accrued on the loan which was like $7000. And to pay $39 each month until October when the payment they would has reduced it to was going to be $196 for 14 years.
I then get an email from Mohela today and it showed they have the loan and I would be paying $284 a month and this company (Cornerstone) couldn’t lower my payments like that and they are a scam. I show this company is not BBB Accredited. I am very upset. I am a single parent, still living with mine because I wanted a better life for my daughter and she had a successful college experience with a half scholarship for soccer and academics. With the loan I have for the parent plus it is under my social but she will be paying the loans, not me but that is definitely something she can’t afford with what she is making with her job right now. So I thought this would really help her and now to find out that it wasn’t true. I had disputed the charges today and have stopped payment on any payments trying to come out of my account. I will be going into my bank tomorrow to also change my account #.
I think this company is a disgrace and dishonest. To take advantage of people like this, especially a single parent that just wanted a better future for her child. Mohela said everything they told me at Cornerstone was not truthful. I will also be sending a complaint to Federal Student Aid.

The scammers pretend to be a debt consolidation service, will tell you directly that they are consolidating your debt and that your payments are going toward your debt, but actually the "service" is all document preparation, and every payment you make is going toward that service, not your debt.

Cornerstone Doc Prep is a company that is not truthful. The assist told me that they were going to consolidate my student loans and that my payments were going to be 39 dollars a month. And the consolidation would be $16,000.00 Then the $39.00 would go towards my student loans which are not true. They are taking money out of my bank account every month with a $399.00 initial fee. It is not going to my student loans. The student loan company (FAFSA) that is holding my loans said that the consolidation process is absolutely free. They charged me for nothing. Do not let them talk you in to do this. Student loan consolidation is FREE.

Cornerstone is a scam company that is not truthful. They told me that they were going to reduce my student loans and that my payments were going to be 46$ dollars a month and the fee would be 899, then rest of my loan would be clear. Then the 46 dollars would go towards my student loans which is not a lie. Do not let them talk you into do this. Look at the letter that I got, I thought it was from Fafsa but this is a scam. Student loan consolidation is FREE.
