My client received a text that looked like it was from the Colorado Secretary of State to file their annual periodic report. The website looked just like the real site. We paid the fee $150. After I completed the transaction, they did not email me a receipt and when I went to search in the real CO SOS website, our periodic report had already been filed in June 2026 on time and the fee was $25. So not only was nothing due, but the price was absurd.
