Please be careful with remote jobs. Please do not pay for equipment- I was scammed!

BEWARE of the following company and other remote jobs! CHIMERIC THERAPEUTICS IS A SCAM. I received a text by someone impersonating this company: David Wilson (HR recruiter) 909-274-9421 & Elizabeth Taylor (Hiring manager) 318-479-0572. It all seems LEGIT, but it’s a SCAM! I received several checks via email from [email protected] & [email protected] & [email protected] & [email protected]

Checks were presented on ALL closed accounts. Accounts were closed over two years ago per Wells Fargo & Bank of America. I’m grateful that MY bank put a HOLD on these checks. It could’ve been worse. Checks issued from: PBS- Corporate Account- 11 Alpha Road Chelmsford, MA 01824 (Northshore Bank) $2,250.00, Clean Scapes Austin LLC P.O. Box 203070 Austin, TX 78720 $2,950.24 (Bank-BMO Harris Bank N.A.), Kenyon Zero Storage Inc 250 Grand Ridge Road P.O. Box 604 Grandview, MA 98930 $4,500.00, Paul Robert Addis Exec 12 Andrews Road Malvern, PA 19355 (Citizens Bank) $1,000.00. CALL the bank and verify funds before you deposit it. Once you deposit these funds, they will request you to send it to them and/or order equipment. In the meantime, your account with be overdrawn. I HOPE this has HELPED someone. They PREY on someone Desperate that’s seeking employment. Please be careful in your job search, I will you the very BEST!

Update: I did speak with the company 3/2/2024 CHIMERIC THERAPUETICS hey verified that they heard about it, but it’s NOT them and they’re NOT hiring. They’re from ALASKA! Karma is real. If you have any additional information, please post. This is serious.

Offered a job remote to work from home. I received the job offer. They requested a deposit of $500 for the equipment that was going to be delivered to my home. The emailed a check to deposit into my bank, which later was returned. Said it was eternal issues and will replace that check. They sent another check to me and that check was on a CLOSED account. I sent them the $500 due to I have a check ( 2,900.00)- in the mean time, they said it was my bank. Go open up another account "wells fargo/chase" once the account was open, send the a copy for direct deposit and the will mail me a check. Well, I called today and the check is NO good, that account is closed.

The employment email seemed legit so I met with this person on Skype. She interviewed me and asked me about 10 interview questions. Nothing personal, so I was still believing it was a legit job. She said I got the job and emailed to me an Offer Letter. Which again seemed legit. She then wanted me to sign the "Offer Letter". It needed to be printed out, signed, and to send her back a picture of the signed letter with my signature. I did that and that seemed legit. It was when she then asked for a photo of my ID, before having any other employment papers filled out, such as W2 form, background check, all those typical annoying unemployment papers to fill out, that comes with a job. That did not seem legit to me. I told her I would need proof of who she was and know more about the company and after I researched more about the company, I would let her know. Since she did have me fooled at first, I sent her my address and signature that makes me feel uneasy. I told her which Bank I deal with so "she could check if it complies with their company for direct deposit" The job she then described to me was that I would need all this office equipment: copy machine, shredder, scanner, fax machine, saying she would send a gift card for Office Max or Best Buy so I can purchase those things for the job.

Job Description:

As a Data Entry Clerk, you are responsible for entering customer and account data from source documents within time limits. Compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare source data for computer entry. Reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output, updating and maintaining information on our company databases and computer systems.

You will be paid $30.75 per hour during working hours and $20.50 per hour during training. This is a remote position with a flexible work schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be fluent in communication and English.

• Must be 18+ average.
