CCHW Home Warranty Division Reports & Reviews (11)

- Pekin, IL, USA

The victim has received at least six requests for response from a home warranty company that won't even give its name. On the most recent letter, dated 10/20/23, the company identified itself as CCHW (an acronym for Complete Care Home Warranty). However, this was the only time the business has given a name. They have given several phone numbers:

800-714-6803

800-607-1714

800-998-2236

888-725-1740

833-932-0551

877-414-0365

877-670-3352

They have sent scam checks, (in the amount of $199.99). They know the victim's name, address, mortgage company information, and banking information. These are all scams marked "FINAL NOTICE" despite continuing to contact the victim the following month.

Phishing - CCHW Home Warranty Postal Mail Phishing Scam

Received via postal mail, "Final Notice" regarding a Home Warranty I never had needing to be renewed. Check attached for $299.00 to be used as "Registration Fee Voucher". Front of pull away tabs mailer states; "Current or Previous Lienholder: Colorado Fsb", "FINAL NOTICE", "Signature Required", and Postal mark with Eagle image states: "mailed from zip code 33310" and Presorted Std US Postage PAID Ft. Lauderdale, FL Permit No. 4810". Surely a phishing scam aimed at the elderly!

They were telling me that my Home Warranty with Countrywide was expiring--Countrywide went out of business in 2008--and I never had a home warranty with Countrywide--they said it was expiring on 7/14/2023

They must have lousy researchers.
Letter was addressed to my daughter who was never on my mortgage and who sadly passed away 5 years ago. Listed a mortgage company who I paid off two years ago. Feel like calling just to mess with them 😃 !

A Mail arrived to our property looking like a government check.
It looks like to make an older person confuse that this was a real check.

This does not have a Business address and email address. When I called the 1-800-349-0755 to be remove from the mailing list. the person sounded like 20 year old American male from DC/MD/VA/PA accent.

Personalized check was sent in the mail from CCHW Home Warranty Division.

There were no conditions for use of the check. The information provided stated that if nothing was done in 5 days my home warranty would be revoked.

I do not have or ever had a home warranty contract.

I called a disclosed number and was told that it is a registration voucher which will cost me $172 monthly for 24 months.

I asked the representative how he got my name and told him it is a misleading solicitation. He implied that it was attached to my mortgage and that it extended my home warranty.

I told him I do not and never have had a home warranty.

He then told me I did not have to use the check.

He stated I was hostile.

This solicitation was extremely misleading as the check is real and there was no information regarding

the conditions of check. I had no intentions of cashing the check but feel it is a scam that could be attractive to someone who does not ask questions, especially an older person or a person need information the money.

Been receiving home warranty mailings for many years. Have received all the ones in the thread. Postcards, pink urgent notices. I have even blocked my phone number. Called them and requested them to stop. Today I received a notice with a check attached. This was my first. It has and exp date of aug 1st 2022. Today is july 26th 2022. Most checks usually expire in about 90 days. But looks very real has watermark and place to sign on back. It doesn't say void any place like most fake checks I have received prior. Well Im gonna call to get their address. Send all the mail back I have here currently. Void this check out. In case someone tries to cash it. The check disturbs me. It is a major bait n switch. If some took this to their bank and could cash it. They could be in trouble later. I think I will call the ATG about this. They're already cracking down on the robo calls from these places.

I received a letter from CCHW stating that my warranty was going to expire and they would have the right to revoke my service eligibility if I do not respond within 5 days. I do not have a home warranty through this company. It also came with a check for $199.00 which was a registration fee voucher. I called them at the number they provided and asked them what this letter and check was for but I didn't provide them with any information.

"Without a home warranty in place, you are at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs..." It contained a "registration fee voucher" for $199.00, and they tried to make it look like a check payable to me; however, there was no bank routing information, etc. I did not contact the 1-800 number. I just don't want some unsuspecting person to fall for this and so am reporting it.

Sent a "FINAL NOTICE" for supposed home warranty expiring. Attached was a check, in my name, for $199.00 labeled "Registration Fee Voucher".
