Unwanted prerecorded debt-relief voicemail from CBC

On September 28, 2026, I received an unwanted voicemail from caller ID 712-670-2953. The speaker identified himself as Ryan from CBC and instructed me to call 888-889-2870. The message claimed that a recent investigation found major banks and credit card companies guilty of violating federal consumer protection laws, and that some of my debt could be permanently removed from my credit report with no further repayment necessary. It invited me to call to activate my consumer rights and permanently discharge my debt. It appears to be a prerecorded debt-relief solicitation. I did not give CBC permission to call. I have not called back, paid them, or shared personal information with them. I am reporting a suspected deceptive solicitation; I do not know the legal identity or location of CBC and cannot verify the true origin of the displayed caller ID. The callback number in the message was 888-889-2870.
