I have attempted to contact them via their website and it says it does not exist. I am going through PayPal to attempt to cancel the "subscription" and get a refund.

- East Liverpool, OH, USA

I was looking for the history of my car seen their website paid the dollar unsubscribed when I noticed it was useless ******* information an now they try to steal money every month

- Los Angeles, CA, USA

Please be cautious with this website. I purchased a one dollar vin check on a vehicle. The report was never received to my email. I said oh well I lost a dollar. Then 7 days later, my bank of America app tells me that 30 dollars had been withdrawn from my account. I try to go the website of carinfostory and it does not even exist any more. The phone number is out of service as well. This company is a total scam and you should not use it for any circumstances. I had to call my bank to put a stop payment on the transaction. After reading more about the company, I found out that there is no way to cancel the charges on their end which is illegal and they will keep charging your account as much as they can. Please Avoid this Business/Website when looking for a vin check. Be cautious and use free vin check websites.

- Virginia Beach, VA, USA

Hit my account for $1.00, then two weeks later for $29.95. Thanks to Truist Bank fraud alerts the $29.95 charge was stopped and I am disputing the $1.00 charge as I don't recall signing up for anything.

I was using this website to see if license plate names were taken so I can get a custom license plate made for my car ever since this day I’ve received multiple scam phone calls every day for the past four months and $30 gets removed from my account. I canceled the subscription. Yeah I still get charged.

- Milwaukee, WI, USA

The website stated it could provide auto history for $1.00. It didn’t work and I was never provided a report. After a few days it took $29.95 from my account. I had to cancel my card and shut down my Venmo account.

- Springfield, MO, USA

Paid $1 for a report of the cars mechanical history, and was assured by the website this was a one time purchase. Received a message from my bank that there was a suspicious purchase, and it was again from Carinfostory.com.

- San Bernardino, CA, USA

unable to cancel subcription. after logging on website, it provides a link to click and cancel auto pay. i had tried multiple times and does not work. i do not know how to stop them from taking my money.

- Anaheim, CA, USA

They first charged me a dollar and then kept charging me 29.95

- Scottsdale, AZ, USA

Website advertised $1 history report. Paid thru PayPal and never received. Then, $29. 95 on a bogus subscription that never approved.

- Norwood, NJ, USA

I purchased a vehicle history report for a vehicle I was interested in purchasing. I agree to pay the $1 for this history report to confirm the car was never in an accident. Since that date I have been billed an additional $1 on the same date. (10/20/24) Since, I have been billed monthly $29.95 on 11/19/24 and 12/19/24. I cannot find any email receipts from the initial purchase. I had to report fraud and cancel my credit card to resolve this issue. The only transaction history is "carinfohistory.com"

- Sumter, SC, USA

I paid $1 for vin lookup. I was never made aware of any 'trial period' or any further payments. But I was charged an additional $29.95 subscription fee. When I clicked on the website to cancel, the page could not be found. I sent an email but recieved no response.

- Soddy Daisy, TN, USA

Same as person who reported before me. I was referred to this website by a person on marketplace who inquired about a car is had posted for sale. He insisted i use this service for a vin report. I went there, paid $1 for a trial then immediately cancelled so i wouldnt get charged again as i realized this was likely a scam. Fortunately i kept all information from both scammer and website.

- Mission Viejo, CA, USA

Charged $1 for car Vin info and never recieved info. Was charger $29.99 after 7 days due to no cancellation that I never agreed to a $29.99 monthly fee.

- Weatherford, TX, USA

I used the website to look up a VIN for a car we were interested in and it was a $1.00 charge to do so through the website. Since then the scammer has taken out 2 amounts of $29.95..less than a month apart. I just canceled my debit card today.

- Alexandria, IN, USA

They offer car vin reports, but the reports are useless. Now the website is no longer available.

- Worcester, NY, USA

I was looking for vehicular information and this website popped up. It offers a seven-day trial for $1. It will charge you $29.95 every month if you don't cancel the subscription. No matter how you attempt to cancel the subscription, online, via phone, email, or with their chat service, the subscription never gets canceled and I kept getting charged month after month. When I submitted an email request, I received an email indicating that a cancellation and refund request was submitted, to please allow four weeks for refund. Instead, they charged me AGAIN. When you call them, option 2 is for requesting refunds, then they tell you they have no available funds to offer a refund. This is a criminal scam and it needs to be put to an end.

None of the "agents" sound like they are in Miami, Florida, where this "company" alleges it is located. It sounds just like other foreigner scams perpetrated against Americans.

- Franklinton, NC, USA

Scam website advertising vehicle history report purchase for $1. After that they begin drawing $29.95 per month from credit card without authorization.

- Southern Pines, NC, USA

Provide a 7 day “trial” period, but if you cancel during this window, they charge you anyway.
