Letter sent about my new car claiming potential lapse in warranty coverage and if I don’t activate the warranty I will be financially responsible for all repairs.

I was sent a letter saying that my car's warranty was about to expire (complete and utter lie) and that I needed to activate it or get another insurance plan and to call them about it. They said i needed to provide my VIN and my current mileage (again, utter scam). The person who "signed" the "document" was someone named Michael Toplen, Program Coordinator.
