The scammer used a text message to get me to connect to a link claiming they were IRS. The text stated “You are eligible to receive a $1400 Economic Impact Payment. Please provide your accurate personal information. We will deposit the amount into your bank account or mail a paper check within 1-2 business days.”

The text gave an official looking link and said I had to reply Y and then go back and open the link and copy it to my Safari browser.
