Bradley’s Doxies Reports & Reviews (1)

I found this breeder through Instagram and noticed we had 2 friends in common. (Both fellow dachshund lovers) the account was private, so I requested to follow. The breeder accepted. Shortly after I looked through her page and fell in love with the color and patter selection of dachshunds she was posting. I sent them a message letting them know what type of puppy I was looking for aesthetically and asked what the cost was for their puppies.

The breeder quickly responded letting me know they didn’t have the specific look I was going for at the moment, they only had one red (I wanted a dapple) and said that they are expecting more pups in 3 months and the prices are between 1300-1700.

I asked if they were expecting any dapples in that litter and sent a photo of one of the pups I found on their Instagram page letting them know exactly the look I’ve been searching for.

The breeder then told me that “she just had babies. I will possibly have this color in 4 months”

I then told her I could wait and asked if they had a website and what the process was for getting a puppy through them.

The breeder then replied that she only has Instagram and that her puppies sell fast due to pups being held by deposits before they are born. Now this is something that makes me a little weary, however I have placed a deposit on an unborn puppy once before (of course that breeder had a website and a contract for deposits taken) so I proceeded with caution, but wasn’t completely convinced this was a scam yet.

I let them know that I had no problems placing a deposit (expecting something like $200) but I was hoping to see photos of the parents of these upcoming litters. I reiterated again what I was looking for to make sure that there was no confusion before placing a deposit.

The breeder then sent me photos and explanations of which pups were breeding with who. Satisfied with what I saw, I asked how I go about placing a deposit.

The breeder then told me “I accept deposits through zelle”

I then asked if there was any paperwork that I needed to fill out and how much the deposit was. My question about the paperwork was avoided and I was given a response of “deposit for a dapple is 600”

Baffled by the deposit price for a puppy that is not yet born.. I asked her if the deposit was refundable if the specific pattern/color I was looking for was not present in the upcoming litters. I mentioned that the deposit was much higher than I’ve been quoted from other breeders and asked them about a contract again.

The breeder then replied “I don’t have contracts my deposits are non refundable.. total for a dapple are 1700” this is an exact quote.

My next response was “so I could place a $600 deposit and perhaps there’s no dapple in the litter and I can’t get refunded?”

The breeder told me they always have dapples and that they’re expecting 3 litters and usually have 2-4 dapples a littler.

I then said: “Okay that’s good to know! Would I be able to meet you in person prior to placing a deposit? I would just feel more comfortable meeting you first and seeing the parents of my future pup in person. I’m definitely not trying to offend you, it’s just a friend of mine got scammed by placing a deposit on a dachshund in the past and I’m just trying to learn from her mistake!“

The breeder read my message and did not reply for 2 HOURS (and Instagram tells you when accounts are active or live)

I decided to wait those 2 hours because I wanted to be respectful of the fact that this breeder probably had a family and obviously puppies to take care of. However as time went on and I kept seeing them online, it just didn’t sit right with me.

I proceeded to send another message saying this: I really like the color combinations that you have on your page and your location is super convenient for me. I would love to purchase a puppy from you!

I could come meet you anytime after 6 on the weekdays or any time on the weekend. Is this something we could set up?

Thank you!!!!“

Again… the breeder read and did not respond. This is when I really started getting sketched out. I mean there were several red flags in this situation but my spider senses were definitely going off. I’m a potential customer and you are ignoring very simple, respectable questions. Weird.

I then started going through EVERY SINGLE POST and every single comment! I know this is extra.. but her pups are beautiful okay.. I really didn’t want this to be a scam.

I noticed that the breeder only posted pictures of previous litters… and puppies that weren’t available. There were no posts about upcoming litters at all whatsoever. The only way you would know if they had puppies on the way, is by commenting on a post and usually the breeder would say they didn’t have anything available at the moment but they’re expecting a littler in one week, 3 months or 4 months) keep in mind.. this kind of thing was something I read A LOT. So if this breeder is real (which I do believe they are…at least to an extent) they really are just having LITTER AFER LITTER AFTER LITTER!! Like holy crap.

I did notice a couple of accounts that appeared to be from past customers (although I’m not completely sold that those accounts are real) but amongst this finding, I found something else that caught my attention. It appeared that this breeder used to go by another Instagram name entirely. Which struck me as very odd… who changes their breeder name like that unless they have something to hide?

The previous name was Diaz Dachshunds and the previous location was somerton, AZ Which is about 3.5 hours away from San tan valley. Now, I understand that people move. What I don’t understand is why I’m also finding that Yuma was also a location of this breeder. Again, people move. But things are seeming fishy here.

I then do some further digging and find VERY bad Facebook reviews and a ScamPulse.com review on Diaz Dachshunds. Apparently this breeder’s name is Yolanda Diaz, and in 2019, she was selling a TON of puppies that she knowingly had parvo. When customers would reach out to her about this problem (yes, pups died) Yolanda would not respond and eventually blocked them from social media.

The purpose of this post is to help other potential customers of what is now known as “bradleysdoxies” to trust their instincts. As I mentioned before, there are SEVERAL red flags in this scenario.. I’m just glad I asked the right questions and trusted my guy before I too, got scammed. I will try to attach photos of our conversation here as well, just to prove that I’m not a disgruntled customer. In fact, I’m not even a customer at all. (Thankfully)

Looks like I can only post one photo. So I will post the messages I sent that went unanswered. I encourage you to do the research yourself and to look up both aliases before placing a deposit on a puppy.
