Bob Moolah Reports & Reviews (1)

First of all - I wish I had more information to tell you. But this is happening to my sister ***, in *** ***, Ohio. I would like to give you her full name but it says (in red) not to do that here. So I won't.

I live in Maryland. So I have not seen her in person to discuss this. However, our brother, ***, was living with her at the time this all began. He has since moved out because he thinks she has lost her mind. He works in construction and was away for 3 weeks and when he got back he learned that during that time, ***  had sold her car for $500 bucks. It was actually worth $3,000 dollars - but she needed money fast to send to her supposed boyfriend (who she's never met in person - only online).

*** is a widow. She lost her husband of 30 yrs about 6 yrs ago. She's also a cancer survivor. She went through extensive surgeries for 3 yrs (after her husband had passed away) for lung cancer. This is why our brother moved in to help support her during her illness. She's lives off disability - but owned her own trailer in a mobile home community. I say 'owned' in the past tense because she has since lost it and had to move out. I'm not sure if the trailer park took it over or if she actually sold it. But she's living with a friend in the same trailer park temporarily.

She has given this man, Bob, every bit of money she has on the planet. Including any savings. She sold all her personal items to raise money. She has nothing left at all. She is destitute. However, she claims that she is in love with this man and that all she needs is $1000 more dollars to get him to her. She's mad at all her family for not helping her get 'her man'. She is like somebody who is under a spell - or brainwashed.

I had heard about these sweetheart scams - but never would I have believed that this would happen to her and that she would fall for it. She is a strong person who has been through a lot and I admired her for her courage. However, her personality has changed dramatically since then.

She says that she is not involved in a scam and she doesn't know why people are saying she is. She believes he is real and that he's coming for her and that somehow miraculously, he will be able to then pay her back and more. I don't know how he has explained that to her. I don't know the total amount of how much money she has given him. Or how she has sent it to him (us mail or other). But she has no car and no home now.

I did call the manager of the mobile home park to ask if she knew anything and the woman sounded very concerned about my sister. She did verify that *** is no longer living in her trailer.

Before my brother moved out - he looked at her phone when she was outside - and that's how he got the name and the number of this person who she's been talking to and sending money to. So, I guess this is how my sister and her scammer are communicating - via cell phone & texting. Maybe by email as well. Although I don't know that for certain.

My brother and I both looked up this Bob guy's phone number and saw that it's from the Chicago area. However, from reading articles about this kind of thing, you can't be sure of anything. He could live anywhere I guess. Even in another country.

My brother called the local police - but they said they couldn't do anything about it because she's an adult and can do whatever she wants. I then contacted the Attorney General's office in Ohio and talked to a woman there and she said that they can't do anything unless an outside agency asks them to.

Now I don't know who else to try to contact. Most people just say to give up. But how can I do that and say that I love and care for my sister? That doesn't feel right to me. There has to be somebody to report this to, who will care. Who might even try to stop this guy.... or whoever is scamming her.
