Type of a scam Worthless Problem-solving Service Scam

I was originally approached by Mark wanting me to run ads with him so i let him tell me all about it, and at first i thought it was a good idea and worthy of trying, he said i could cancel at anytime, and that this ad that i would be paying for would be in a magazine sent to 3600 homes, later finding out they do not share any data our demographics where these are going or to who, and i told him i would be monitoring this thru my website because i can see where people log in from. I have 2 months where this has been apparently sent out, and not one single page view. There is no confirming where these are going or any ROI, now i tell them i want out and they say i am in a contract. This REP guy that came here on numerous occasions to my manufacturing facility, ALL OF WHICH WE NEVER TALKED ABOUT THE AD, just listening to this guy talk about himself and how he wants his family and wife to work for me. Ido not know this guy and how insulting to think you just come around and i want to hire your wife? So anyways. TOTAL MISLEADING, I look them up online and everyone is saying this. I am calling the FTC and fighting this, and they are going to pay my attorney fees and court costs and whatch me get out of it. You scammed the wrong company guys....

I thought I was applying for an Account Representative position and it turns out that in order to go to the training seminar that is out of state, I would have to pay out of pocket for the plane ticket, hotel, transportation to seminar, and business cards. Their headquarter office is in Wisconsin and they claim to have an Auburn, California office but when I seem to ask for a location they don't answer my question. When I asked the Division Manager how come the company doesn't pay for any expenses he replied with "As independent contractors, being self-employed may have many benefits such as tax benefits for travel expenses. it's definitely something I recommend doing research on and also calling a local accountant for their advice. Most CPAs will do a free phone consultation." It seems like the people that I have spoken to so far at this job claim that it is an at home job, but you have to be able to drive to companies and give them a sales pitch on why they should advertise in the BVM magazines. Best Version Media has a lot of job listings out there. I inquired about a job listed in my rural area of NS. Talked to two people on 2 separate occasions (not much info was given) and was told that they thought I was a good fit. I was told I would have to make my way to Toronto for 2 day training (approx $1500 expense to me). Before committing to this, I asked about the territory I would have and about how they determined it was a viable area for a new magazine. I asked for contact information for other publishers in NS, or in Canada to discuss the opportunity in detail. They said they were going to get back to me with some real tangibles (territory, other publishers, etc), but now have stopped communicating with me. I am concerned that they will get people to training, do a "pitch" and in the end offer no real "employment". It is a business venture at best - only viable for larger centers (20,000 people or more), but they are soliciting for people to start up in really small towns and villages (2,000-4,000). People are getting mislead, potentially ripped off..
