Good afternoon,

- I received a text from 731-439-9648 letting me know I will receive a packet via USPS to start my first job as a

mystery shopper

- I received an USPS envelope Priority mail Tracking # *** *** *** *** *** ** containing a check for

$1,967 with the all the instructions. Sender's info: Jimmie lambert, 830 E Rich Ave, Spokane WA 99207

- Assignment details required to contact them as soon as I receive the packet at:

[email protected]/text 209-208-8346

- First assignment was to buy $1600 in Ebay gift cards, peel the silver scratch-off area, take pictures and send the

pictures via email / text to email/phone mentioned above.

- The check for $1,967.23 was to cover assignment bills and $320 is the compensation for the evaluation

- They requested no to mention to the cashier at the bank that this was going to be used for an evaluation

- Quality of the check paper and letter of instructions were poor, which made me be suspicious

- I am keeping all documents sent in case you need it

Fake shopper scam. They send you a check. Ask you to deposit it in your account. You take it all out, but leave $400 for yourself. You are instructed to go buy Gift Cards at places such as Best Buy, Target, Walgreen's, etc. Then you take photo's of cards with the numbers and send to them. Their check bounces and they use the gift cards. Variation of an old trick.

The quality of the mailing was very poor with bad grammar. Have to assume they are foreigners. It was so bad it was an obvious scam. Yet I couldn't find any direct accusations online about Ardent Services. They are likely quite adept online because they found me and probably are able to somehow hide negative online comments.

Screened me briefly (no ss # or personal info) and got back to me about a week later saying my 1st assignment was arriving USPS as a secret shopper. It did, as Charles Collins said. The envelope contained a check of $2,540 and instructions telling me to deposit the check from their sponsor or cash it out, then take $250 as my fee and observe 2 Money Gram store outlets near me. I was to send $1,100 plus $90 as moneygram fee to 2 people that were named on the letter. Of course, they gave me instructions on what to look for as a mystery shopper, including the 8 digit moneygram reference number...On the top of the letter, they used a name of a service, which upon looking this up, there is such a legitimate service, but they changed it up to look like theirs. There were a couple different names involved in this, including a return label on my envelope from a Chicago Community Bank.
