I received an email in response to the job listing I applied for on LinkedIn. The person who emailed me is Leyllah Johnson. Email address it was sent from is [email protected]. The email I received is the following:

Time management, staying organized, and being proactive in communication are key to succeeding. Our training program is designed to address these early on, and ongoing support is available.

Amplar Services LLC provides an equipment stipend, issued via company check, to cover the purchase of essential hardware, including a laptop, printer, and monitor. Purchases must be made through approved retailers such as Best Buy, Staples, or Walmart.

For security and compliance, all required software installations, system configurations, and network access will be managed by our accredited IT vendor. This ensures smooth integration with company systems and access to corporate software discounts.

Once your equipment is set up and verified, you will be securely connected to our company database, ensuring a structured and efficient onboarding process. Do you understand?

Here’s how our onboarding process works: After our Zoom conversation, you will receive your official offer letter via email within 24–48 hours. Once you sign and return the offer, we will issue your sign-on bonus check to cover the purchase of your required equipment. This process typically takes 1–5 business days. Please note that you do not need to purchase anything upfront equipment should be purchased only after receiving the company-issued check. All of these details, including purchasing instructions and approved retailers, will be clearly outlined by me when it's time .

I didn’t have any so they proceeded to ask for the following information which I unfortunately provided:

This information will be used solely for secure internal onboarding.

In addition to this, You are required to continue reporting daily via Zoom check-ins at 9:00 AM your local time. During these sessions, we will:

Provide an update on the status of your sign-on bonus, and I will guide you through the steps to procure your equipment.

Guide you through the progress of your training

Answer any questions you may have and support your smooth transition

Once onboarding is complete and your equipment has been procured, you will be assigned to a supervisor who will train you for your role in accordance with our company policies.

I said I was available and then this was the last message I received before I did more research and discovered they were a scam:

I deleted all of my personal info as well as the images of my drivers license I provided and now I no longer have them as a contact on zoom it seems they have removed me.

Received an email from a HR representative telling me I made the cut to move forward and to be interviewed. The email had instructions to send a request to a specific person on Zoom and email this person letting them know I have sent a request and set up a time and date for an interview. I followed the directions but never received an email back. I did receive an instant message via Zoom and he said he was able to conduct the interview at that moment if I was able to. I agreed and proceeded to tell me about the job I was interviewing for and then to answer a few questions and type done after I was answered them. Once I was done he said he and the others were going to review my answers and that it would take 7-10 minutes to review my answers. After that they told me I was a great fit and that I was selected. I asked what the next steps were and he asked me who I banked with for direct deposit. I didn’t tell him who but told him if the HR department could email the forms needed to set up the direct deposit then I would be happy to do that. After that he said the following: Below is the list of materials and software required for Admin Assistant position, as you will be working remotely:
