Allied Financial Services Reports & Reviews (2)

- Ontario, CA, USA

This "company" claims to be able to help with student loan reimbursement for schools that closed and students were unable to finish their degree, causing the loss of Pell Grant's as well as the accumulation of student loan debt. As a victim of such an issue, I was in search of the company that could help me weed through the process of returning such funds so I could continue my education elsewhere. After the initial payment was collected on the first phone call (which they demanded access to my personal FAFSA ID), I was supposed to have an interview to gather information in order to get process going. First interview date I was never contacted. Called company they told me to reschedule. Second interview, 29 days after my original date, again I was never contacted. Upon calling again I was denied a refund for my initial payment of $259, of which the full amount was going to be $1100 paid over the course of 8 months.

Allied Financial Services claims to be affiliated with the Department of Education and will work to have student loans forgiven. THEY WILL SEND YOU AN EMAIL THAT COMES FROM [email protected] with a six-digit code that you read back to them. This code allows them to change your FAFSA password and gives them access to your SSN, driver's license number, address, email address, etc. Everything.

They will tell you that your loan servicer is under investigation for charging excessive interest and that they will become the new loan servicer. They ask you to hold the phone for a few minutes then come back from their "underwriter" and tell you that they've arranged forgiveness of all but $599 (or $399 or $999) of your total debt, and that when you've paid them that amount, the Dept of Education will then send you the paperwork that shows forgiveness of the rest of your student loans. But you have to pay them first.
