Much like the unfortunate circumstances reported by another duped family on this website regarding Alex Berg or Jerome Skinner, our family was also out the $300 and no boxer puppy. I reached out to Alex Berg/Jerome Skinner via cell phone with a few choice words after he failed to communicate or show up to sell us one of his female brindle boxers. He responded via text initially and then called me. He called me a few choice names and said that he was in the hospital at the beginning of the call and then said his son was in the hospital, which story is it?. We aren’t buying it! After I told him that karma will repay him for stealing from families and using a puppy as bait I wished him luck with that and I hung up. He then called me right back and my husband spoke with him. He told my husband to send our Zelle account info so he could refund us. We didn’t believe him but sent the info just in case he wanted to do what was right. Sure enough he said he sent the money back and I asked him to screen shot the verification of fund transfer. He sent us a non Zelle screen shot and blacked part of what was supposed to be our email out, so clearly lying again. I verified we didn’t receive the funds sent him a screen shot of the Zelle account stating no activity and asked him if he thought we were as ignorant as he is because the email in the screen shot verified someone sent $300 to a gmail account and our email was an sbcglobal email. I knew he wouldn’t do what was right. I reported him to Zelle and vowed to put our story on blast so that we can prevent any other victims of this ignorant scammer. Boxer puppy lovers beware...this guy is a complete [censored]. I had to break the news to our 3 kiddos that we weren’t getting a puppy today after all. People like this make me sick but I am a huge believer in Karma and so I hope instead of 10 fold he gets what he deserves 100 fold.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

Alex Berg is representing himself as a dog breeder selling puppies on a website called AKC Marketplace. We found his information while looking to purchase a boxer puppy. We contacted him through the website saying we're interested. He texted me the next day saying he has puppies available. His texting was unusual as if English was not his main language. He gave us the price of $500, and said he required a deposit of $300 to hold the puppy until we could come get her. What was unusual to us is the method of getting him the deposit (PayPal Friends and Family to an address that did not have his name associated with it), but since we have never done this type of transaction before, and the legitimacy of the website, we dismissed our suspicions. We sent him the deposit and arranged to come pick up the puppy. We went to the arranged site and waited, texting him that we were there. He said he would be there shortly. We waited 2 hours in total, and after an hour he stopped responding and never showed with the puppy. We left with no puppy and he has our $300 deposit.
