Why did I stop at the zip code? I felt as something was off because the individual on the other line could not tell me somethings I thought he should have had. I soon realized he just pulled up the booking confirmation I gave him. This made me want to re-look at the number I called. I compared the number I called verse the number I should have called and realized the mistake during the phone call.
I went ahead and called my credit card and informed them of the issue and asked for a new card to be sent. Luckily nothing was charged to the card.
I did follow up and called back the wrong number (1-800-645-3380) again. When I asked what airline they supported, they said they are a central help desk and support all the airlines. When I asked about the company name, I was not given one but that they were a global help desk for the airlines. When I asked if this was a scam, I got the response "how did you know" and "you are the scammer" as the response.
Do not make the mistake of getting caught in this scam.
