Advocate and Solution Reports & Reviews (1)

- Broomfield, CO, USA

In 2018 I was victim of a timeshare/vacation rental scam where someone contacted me saying that I could rent out my vacation rental to others and they would pay me for the time they stayed at the resort, and that it was guaranteed that the company would find at least one group to book a week of my vacation rental, and I just had to pay around $1500 for the yearly service. I can't remember the exact amount; it was around $1500. They said they would send me weeks that their clients had requested and then I would need to call my vacation rental company to find out if the dates were available, and then let them know so that they could book the resort stay. They sent me dates, but they were always full, and eventually I realized it was a scam. I never reported it because I didn't really know how to at the time. I was recently contacted by a person claiming to be a paralegal for an organization called Advocate and Solution, who were claiming to have caught the "scammer" who was found with a list of names and contact information, including my own, and Advocate and Solution was working with some lawyers who were going to file a lawsuit against the "scammer". The paralegal provided me with a website: http://advocateandsolution.com and has called me a few times saying he was keeping me updated about their progress, and he wanted to request some more information from me. However, since my experience in 2018 I am a bit suspicious and have looked up the business in the yellow pages and on BBB, and nothing is coming up. Also, when I dial the phone number, the phone either is picked up and I am transferred to the paralegal, or the phone just rings and rings with no answering machine, which seems a bit odd for a large business like this one (according to their website). The "paralegal" has been hesitant to converse with me over email, and instead been fairly insistent on speaking with me by phone, though I do have an email address and have received one correspondence. I am trying to determine if this is a legitimate business, or part of the original scam from 2018, trying to get a bank account from me or more money.
