I received a call from this number 4 times in a row and when I finally answered they said that they were from Verizon. They knew my address, phone number, how much my bill was and were offering me a discount on my bill for the next two years due to lack of service in the area, but wanted some information from me. I hung up and called Verizon direct and they confirmed that this was a scam and they informed me that they never call unless it is scheduled by the customer in advance.
