Someone claiming to be with the FBI with this phone number called my wife's cell phone and left a message saying they were doing an investigation and it was imperative that she called them back. She has not called them back and we are blocking the number.

On the morning of January 1, 2025 around 11:00AM CT, the impersonator called my wife's cell phone number indicating they were with the Polk County Iowa Sherriff's Department and that my wife had missed a court date and there was a warrant for her arrest. We reside in Texas today, but previously resided in Iowa. The impersonator knew both our Iowa and Texas addresses. They asked her to take $7,000 to an ATM-like machine so that she would not get arrested. She picked up on the scam, and did not pay any money to the impersonator, but it sounded very real. He texted allegedly "official" documents showing civil action case numbers that were allegedly in violation of Iowa and Federal laws. She did not click on any links. Please be aware of this scam because it seemed very real.
