Donation Scam

An african-american gentleman came to my door with a red clipboard with multiple pages of info & explained that his organization "Changing Life Connection" was dedicated to helping others like himself make a difference in lives when poor choices were made and this was done through many donation opportunities. His was literacy and it required magazine purchases that could be gifted back to the organization. I have included a copy of the receipt with my personal info removed. I looked up the organization and there is nothing on the web. When I searched the phone number I found this other scam notice on this site. I was able to put a stop payment on my check.

On 10/15/24, a well-dressed Black man came to my front door with a red clipboard and claimed to work for New Beginnings Connection. He said New Beginnings Connection is a company that aims to help Black men that have previously made some poor choices. He claimed the company provides magazines to a charity of the victim’s choice. The man said that payments could only be made via check or Zelle. However, the magazines are never delivered.
