Package theft scam text from LA area code
"I live near something worrying that just went down. I need an explanation. Reply ASAP, please."
From an unknown number, so I replied with "who is this?"
It was followed by
"Someone told me they saw you near my front door just a little while ago, but a package I’ve been expecting has gone missing."
Number in question was an LA area code, when my number is an Oklahoma area code, thousands of miles from them. Presumably trying to scam/blackmail me into paying them for this "stolen" package that doesn't exist. I don't know anyone with an LA area code, nor have I even left my home in over a week (work from home, lol) so not only was the text utterly bizarre but the accusation, impossible.
I left it off with, essentially, try your scam on some other chump cause it's not gonna be me, and have been putting in reports on several sites :)
