I received a folded, perforated letter. Opening it revealed a fake check in the amount of $1089. The text is as follows: “Dear name, in celebration of the New Year, you and your spouse or partner are cordially invited to take part in the 2025 Travel and Adventure Forum. Join us for a fun filled, travel, cruise and adventure showcase. This event is by invitation only and in exchange for your time and opinion you will receive two complimentary round-trip airline tickets to any destination in the continental United States, along with a 3-day, 2-night hotel stay at one of over 1000 Marriott’s, Hilton‘s, or Hyatt’s (option to extend). The retail value is up to $1089 Round-trip airline tickets are limited and first come first serve. If we do not hear from you within 7 days these travel vouchers will be awarded to an alternate guest. This correspondence will serve as your final notice.
